Who we are and what we do
ACF Missions, Inc. is the mission agency of the African Christian Fellowship USA (ACF), East Region. When ACF started 27 years ago, our desire was for a place of vibrant fellowship for believers who had come from Africa to study here in the United States so that we can remain united and strong in faith despite the many challenges we face as immigrants. Over the years, as the Lord has blessed and established us, He has also enlarged our vision. He has opened our hearts and eyes to see the need for every African in the United States to reconnect with Africa, and make a difference in our beloved Continent. The challenges facing our homeland have never been more daunting, but rather than moan and curse the darkness, we have chosen to light a candle!
We are responding to God’s call to bring hope to the many people groups in Africa that are still unreached. They have never heard of the love that took our Savior Jesus Christ to the cruel cross and the power that raised Him from the dead and may never hear unless someone, moved with compassion, will cross cultural barriers and take the message of salvation to them. We firmly believe that at the root of Africa’s many political, economic and social problem is a cry for spiritual rebirth and revival. Too many of our people remain in the grip of Islam, Animism and nominal life-less Christianity. This is the reason corruption; poverty, war and disease defy every human solution and continue to ravage our precious homeland.
We sense God’s call to be a voice for Africa’s many unreached people groups and a voice to call the Church in Africa to action in winning unreached people to Christ. Through our Advocacy Network, we give opportunity to Africans in the U.S. to be a vital part of the final harvest among unreached people groups in Africa by encouraging missionaries who work among them. There has been a steady decline in the flow of missionary resources to Africa from the Western World, and we believe Africans in the U.S. must mobilize resources to fill the gap. There is an urgent need for us all to take the initiative, through selective partnering, to spread the gospel to the areas of greatest need in Africa. Therefore we are focusing our efforts on the stronghold of Islam, Animism and areas most impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Through our short-term summer mission trips, we are creating opportunities for Africans, and indeed everyone who loves the continent, to increase their involvement in missions and be part of God’s redemptive work in Africa.
To do this we must be strategic and remain focused to make the most impact on the ground. Therefore our passion is to honor our Lord Jesus Christ and our goal is to:
- Encourage missionaries serving among Unreached People Groups in Africa; and to mobilize resources from he West to support them;
- Be a strong voice for the many unreached people groups in Africa and to call His Church in Africa to action in winning them to Christ;
- Share the pain of the Persecuted Church in Sudan and motivate the Church to love and win their persecutors to the Lord;
- Driven by the love of Jesus that we have experienced, practically demonstrate His compassion to the victims of HIV/AIDS in Africa, particularly Uganda.
- Be God’s heart, His hands and His feet extended to meet human needs in Africa!
ACF members and leadership do not derive personal financial benefit from the work of ACF Missions. As a result, administrative costs are kept to the minimum, thus allowing us to pass on 100% of designated support directly to the beneficiaries in Africa. We thank you for your prayers and sacrificial financial support. Please continue to pray for us, our next mission trip beginning August 1, 2006 and for continuing fruitful ministry among Unreached People groups, missionaries and needy Children in Africa. The purpose of Joshua Project is "to spread a passion for the supremacy of GOD in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ" . The mission and passion of Joshua Project is to identify and highlight the people groups of the world that have the least exposure to the Gospel and the least Christian presence in their midst. Joshua Project shares this information to encourage pioneer church-planting movements among every ethnic people group.
Joshua Project has compiled the work of numerous missions researchers to develop a complete list of all ethnic peoples. Many errors, duplicates, overlaps still exist and the data is continually being updated.
From this overall ethnic peoples list, Joshua Project has identified a list of unreached / least-reached peoples. This list helps bring definition to the unfinished task of the Great Commission. We desire that this list be used to accelerate the Gospel’s impact into each of the least-reached people groups.
Joshua Project seeks to answer the questions that result from the Great Commission’s call to make disciples among every people:
1) Who are the ethnic people groups of the world?
2) Which people groups still need an initial church-planting movement in their midst?
3) What ministry resources are available to help begin outreach among the least-reached?
Accurate, regularly updated ethnic people group information is critical for understanding and completing the Great Commission and for effective coordination of mission agency efforts.More.......
